Frilly and Funkie Challenge - Wedding White plus a Color

Hello and welcome to another Frilly and Funkie challenge!  This time our host is Rebecca.  Rebecca wants us to create a card or project with a wedding theme that uses white plus an additional color.

When I think of weddings I always think of verse 13 from 1 Corinthians, chapter 13 - And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.

I used that verse as the basis of my card.  The color I added is Distress Ink in Shaded Lilac.  I started with a white card base and randomly applied glue stick to the front of the card.  I crinkled a piece of Melange tissue wrap and pressed it to the glued areas.  Then I used the ink blending tool to add my color.

The corrugated cardboard piece came from the packaging in my recent order from The Funkie Junkie Boutique!  I coated it, along with some hearts die cut from grunge paper, with Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence.  Once dry I added shaded lilac distress ink to the corrugated cardboard piece.  I applied shaded lilac distress stain to the hearts and wiped away the extra.  Next I cut two pieces of white cardstock with the On the Edge Distressed Doily die .

All that was left was to assemble the pieces!  I attached the two doily die cuts to the back of the cardboard and glued that to the front of the card.  I wrapped that with a piece of white paper string.  Then glued down the hearts on top of that.  The ribbon flowers were cut from a piece of Idea-ology trimmings.  Then I added the chit chat stickers.  Done!

I hope you like my card and that you'll play along with us on this challenge.  If you do, you might be the lucky winner of the $25 gift certificate to The Funkie Junkie Boutique!!

The following items that I used on my project can be found at The Funkie Junkie Boutique! The boutique offers it's merchandise at up to a 20% discount from the typical retail price! That's a great deal and you should check it out!!
