Hello! I found time yesterday to make my version of the June tag for the Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2012. I pretty much followed Tim's version with the exception of using my own photo.
I had to substitute Distress Stains Victorian Velvet and Pumice Stone for my background tag as I don't have Tattered Roses and Frayed Burlap stains (I'll remedy that today!). I must say that I LOVE the color combination! I wrote it down on the back of the tag so that I would have it for future reference!
The stamp used on the background tag is the Fleur with Script from Stampers Anonymous. The photo is a B&W laserjet copy and I colored it with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Brushed Corduroy and Bundled Sage using the Ranger Craft Nibs and Holder. I didn't have the mini numbers or the metal file tabs. For the number I covered a manila folder scrap with foil tape and cut a number "2" using a retired Sizzix sizzlet alphabet die. I used the same technique for the metal file tab using the Alterations Bigz Tiny Tabs and Tags die and then colored the tab with Adirondack Alcohol Ink in Ginger. The Limited Edition stamp is from Hero Arts.
Oh, by the way, that's my Dad and his father in the photo! The picture was taken in 1942 so that's why I used the number "4" on the file tab and the number "2" at the bottom! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteI love this tag, the colours are fab. Great photo too. xx
Even though you followed Tims tag design I really like how you've really made it your own. Great photo and the colours you used on the background work beautifully together. I'll have to try it myself one day soon.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous! Love the use of the real picture....a true keepsake! What a gorgeous take on Tim's tag!!!!
